Your Golf Mental Game

A large percentage of your golf game is mental. Have you ever noticed that you’ll be having a good game, you take a bad shot and your ball lands in a sand trap, and your game is all down hill from there? That’s because your attitude suddenly becomes negative, therefore your game becomes negative as well.

Even the most positive person in the world can have negative thoughts on the golf course. While it may seem inevitable that you will have a negative attitude when things go badly on the course, it is possible to change. There are things you can do on the course to develop a more positive attitude as you make your golf swing on the tee or hit shots around the greens.

Don’t let one bad swing ruin your whole game. Just shake it off, and pretend like it never happened. One bad swing or one bad hole will not affect your entire game. However, if you let it affect your attitude, it definitely could ruin the whole game.

One tactic to keeping a positive attitude is to simply leave no room for negative thoughts. If you simply think to yourself “I can I can I can I can……” over and over until you have hit your ball, you won’t have time to be thinking about negative things. You will be amazed at the result. Give it a try..
