Things to do in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is known for its golf, but contrary
to the common initial reaction, this does not mean that there are
not tons of other fun things to do. The beautiful town is located
by the beach and has several attractions for people who enjoy nightlife,
museums, parks, the theatre, good food and daytime activities. Commonly
referred to as a camp for adults, Myrtle Beach has a plethora of
options for everyone, depending on your recreational desires.
One attraction on Myrtle Beach is the Comedy Cabana, located at
9588 N. Kings Hwy. If you enjoy a good laugh over a couple drinks,
this is a wonderful option
to begin your night. Another fun place to enjoy entertainment is
the House of Blues. This Restaurant has several performances, good
food, and plentiful amounts of liquor. They even have Murder Mystery
dinners on Fridays and Saturdays, if you are looking to expand your
mind and have a good time by meeting other people with similar interests.
If you are going to Myrtle Beach with your family,
one of the most popular attractions is the Children’s Museum, located
on 2501 N. Kings Highway. This is a great place to take kids in
order to teach them about the world, while allowing them to have
a good time. The museum offers different things to touch, explore
and play with and is a good choice for kids of any age. Although
a popular choice, the Children’s museum is not the only one at Myrtle
Beach. The Franklin G. Burrough and Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum
on 3100 S. Ocean Blvd. have a wide variety of artwork for the viewing
pleasures of adults and kids.
Another attraction for the whole family is the IMAX Theater, which
is located on Broadway at the Beach, 21st Avenue. The theatre has
a six-story screen that shows a variety of nature and adventure
shows, sure to astound you.
The Myrtle Beach State Park is located on 4401 S. Kings Highway,
and is another popular place to take the family.
This park includes a campground, cabins, nearly a mile of beach,
picnic areas, a fishing pier, a nature center and nature trail to
see one of the last stands of maritime forest on the northern coast
of South Carolina. If you are still looking for something to do,
Ripley's Aquarium on 1110 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach has an
enjoyable variety of marine life.
If you are still looking for something to do at the end of the day,
there are several clubs, bars and restaurants in Myrtle
Beach. 2001 Nightclub offers dance, hip-hop and techno every
day of the week. If you enjoy taking the stage and grabbing a microphone,
Boardwalk Bill’s Bar and Grill or Calli Baker’s Roadhouse on Ocean
Blvd. have Karaoke. Celebrations offers four clubs on one roof,
and Club Cryptonite has a wide variety of music. With a plentiful
amount of daytime activities and oodles of nightlife fun, Myrtle
Beach offers several attractions for kids and adults alike.
